Russian footballer Pavel Mamaev has been detained in Moscow for the period of 48 hours on charges of hooliganism, Irina Volk, a spokesperson for the Russian Interior Ministry, said, TASS reports.
"In line with the Criminal and Procedural Code, Mamaev has been detained for 48 hours," she said. "He [Mamaev] is suspected of hooliganism."
Yury Titov, a spokesman for the Moscow Interior Ministry’s department, announced to journalists earlier in the day that Moscow police launched a criminal investigation in regard to two national football players, Alexander Kokorin and Pavel Mamaev, on charges of hooliganism.
