In the near future, Russians who want to come to Turkey for a long time will face difficulties with renting and buying housing, as well as obtaining a residence permit, RIA Nedvijimost informs, citing experts.
According to the decision of the Turkish Migration Department, from July 1, a ban on the residence of more than 20% of foreigners, including in areas popular with Russians, is introduced. The list includes: parts of the Fatih, Shishli, Essenyurt and Beyoglu districts in Istanbul; Kestel, Mahmutlar, Avsalar and Liman in Antalya and Alanya; districts of Konnak, Borova and Torbala in Izmir. Now, in these areas, it is impossible to obtain a residence permit on the basis of renting or buying real estate.
