The holy month of Ramadan begins for Muslims at sunset. Believers around the world will abstain from food and drink at daytime for 30 days.

At sunset, the holy month of Ramadan began for Muslims. During Ramadan, believers will observe a strict fast: no food and drinks are allowed during the daytime.

Ramadan is the ninth month of the lunar calendar, which is of great importance for the entire Islamic world – the Koran was sent down to the Prophet Muhammad at this month. Ramadan is the month of purification and mercy.

This year, the first day of fasting fell on March 23, and the first Tarawih prayer was read in the evening of March 22. The month of Ramadan will end on April 20, and the very next day, Muslims will celebrate one of the main Islam holidays – Eid al-Fitr.

The Vestnik Kavkaza team congratulates all Muslims on the beginning of Ramadan and wishes the Almighty to accept all your fasts and good deeds.
