Mutko: we were forced to increase costs of 2018 World Cup after terrorist attacks in Paris

30 billion rubles may be not enough to ensure the safety of the 2018 World Cup, the chairman of the organizing committee Russia-2018, the head of the Russian Football Union (RFU) and Sports Minister of the Russian Federation, Vitaly Mutko, said after a meeting with President Vladimir Putin.

He stressed that this issue was raised at the meeting, but there is no decision yet. Also the head of the Ministry of Sports said that the amount of additional appropriations depends on who is to be involved in the work on the 2018 World Cup, including the stadiums.

Mutko said that the authorities are going to decide how many volunteers and security officers they need to ensure safety.

In addition, the head of the Russian Football Union paid attention to the fact that the Paris terrorist attacks are the reason for the growth in security spending.
