NATO Military Committee meeting starts in Tbilisi

The meeting of the NATO Military Committee was opened in the Radisson hotel in Tbilisi.

It is a second meeting of the NATO Military Committee in Georgia. According to the Defence Ministry, this fact confirms the Alliance's support of Georgia's territorial integrity and sovereignty.

A high-ranking NATO delegation headed by the chairman of its Military Committee General Petr Pavel is on an official visit to Georgia.

Georgia's Minister of Defence Levan Izoria addressed the NATO military representatives at the meeting. 

According to him, "NATO's current support is critical to the security challenges in the region, amid Russia's growing aggression against neighboring countries," Izoria said.
