The construction of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline is a national decision, it's not for NATO to decide, NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg said.
Speaking to reporters after his morning confrontation with US President Donald Trump, Stoltenberg said that "there are different views on the Nord Stream pipeline" and that "it's not for NATO to decide."
"This is a national decision. But NATO has, of course, addressed energy security because we understand that there is a relationship between energy and security matters," he stressed.
"We have highlighted the importance of this diversification of supplies to make sure that our energy systems are resilient," the FT cited the NATO Secretary-General as saying.
