NATO needs Georgia, Bakhtadze says

The head of the Georgian government, Mamuka Bakhtadze, at a meeting on the NATO expansion held as part of the Munich International Security Conference, said that the country's membership in the alliance is important not only for Georgia but also for the alliance as well.

He stressed that steps in this direction have been made since the ‘window of opportunity’ is opened.

“We firmly believe that our achievements will be transformed into tangible steps, and Georgia will be even closer to joining NATO. Georgia has all the practical tools for the final membership. We have a comprehensive political dialogue with NATO,” the head of the Georgian Cabinet said.
