NATO plans to deploy radar detection aircraft in Turkey

NATO plans to deploy early-warning Boeing E-3 Sentry aircraft in Turkey in the framework of strengthening the Turkish air defense against the background of the situation in Syria.

The deployment of aircraft will be carried out by the German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr).

As noted, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Defense of Germany notified the German Bundestag about the upcoming operation in a letter shortly before western Christmas.

"A temporary relocation of Boeing E-3 Sentry aircraft from the base in Geilenkirchen to the Konya airfield in Turkey is planned," RIA Novosti reported with reference to the publication Bild am Sonntag.
