Azerbaijan is an important strategic partner for NATO, the Romanian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Dan Iancu said at a round table in Baku, dedicated to the regional security challenges in the Caspian and Black Sea regions.

NATO Alliance Liaison Officer in the South Caucasus William Lahue drew attention to the fact that for five years as a contact office of NATO, Romania has done important work on the expansion of cooperation between Azerbaijan and NATO.
In addition, he noted that the region has a lot of possibilities. "Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey have huge potential for transit. These transport capabilities will connect Asia with Europe in the future," Lahyu said, adding that NATO will continue to support the peaceful resolution of conflicts in the South Caucasus.
