This year, the Head of the Bank of Russia, Elvira Nabiullina, was named the best leader among heads of central banks in the world, according to Euromoney magazine.
Analysts of magazine believe that the Russian Central Bank, despite Western sanctions and the low price of oil, was able to take all the necessary steps to stabilize the ruble, including a sharp increase in the key rate. Also, Euromoney praised the measures taken by the Central Bank of the Russian Federation in the field of cleansing of the banking sector by closing unreliable credit institutions.
"This award is a great honor for me and is an indicator of the work of the Central Bank team as a whole," TASS quotes Nabiullina as saying.
The award will be presented to the Head of the Russian Central Bank at a private reception at a meeting of the IMF and the World Bank in Peru in October.
