Ukraine's Naftogaz claimed on Wednesday that Denmark decided not to give permission to Russian gas giant Gazprom for construction of Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline in its waters.
"Gazprom received yet another rejection from Denmarkregarding Nord Stream 2 route," Naftogaz wrote on Twitter, Urdu Point reports.
Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline is expected to be put into operation by the end of 2019 and deliver 55 billion cubic meters (1.9 trillion cubic feet) of Russian natural gasannually to EU countries. The route will pass through the territorial waters or exclusive economic zones of Russia, Finland, Sweden, Denmark and Germany.
Denmark is the only country that has not authorized the construction yet.
