Professor Nargiz Pashayeva held the meeting with members of the House of Lords in London.

The co-chairwoman of the Anglo-Azerbaijani Society, the rector of the Baku branch of MSU, the head of the Oxford Nizami Ganjavi Research Center from the Azerbaijani side, Professor Nargiz Pashayeva, and the chairman from the British side, a member of the House of Lords of the British Parliament Lord Herman, held a round table in London on March 3, 2016.

The event was attended by members of the House of Lords, eminent academics and journalists who play a significant role in the cultural, social and political life of the country, such as Mrs. Bettany Hughes, Lord Greene, Baroness Andrews, Baroness O'Cathain and the Director of the Nizami Ganjavi Scientific Center of Azerbaijan and Caucasian Studies at the University of Oxford, Professor Robert Hoyland.

Expressing hope that the next meetings will allow deep and detailed discussions related to Azerbaijan to be held, Professor Nargiz Pashayeva noted: "The fundamentals of today's modern cultural, artistic and aesthetic, progressive, scientific, intellectual, human and spiritual values were ​​laid during that period. The first republic in the Muslim East – the Democratic Republic of Azerbaijan – was established. Unfortunately, it existed only 23 months. However, those 23 months have become the national essence of our history.
