The Skripal incident is a grotesque provocation by British and US intelligence agencies, Russian Foreign Intelligence Service Director Sergei Naryshkin said at the 7th Moscow Conference on Global Security.
"Even as far as the Skripal case goes, which is a grotesque provocation rudely staged by the British and US intelligence agencies, some European countries are in no hurry to follow London and Washington, preferring to sort the situation out," TASS cited Naryshkin as saying.
He also said that the US actions toward Russia mean its possible to start speaking of a return to the Cold War era.
"Washington has become fixated with the fight against a non-existent, so-called Russian threat. This has reached such proportions and acquired such absurd characteristics that it’s possible to speak of a return to the dark times of the Cold War," the spy chief added.
