The Russian State Duma Speaker Sergey Naryshkin said that he would not support the proposal to raise taxes after 2018 and confirmed that there are no such decisions.
"Indeed, such a decision was not taken at any level and such proposals have never been expressed," he said.
Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that there are no decisions on this topic, there are no existing programs that provide such growth of taxes.
On Sunday, The Wall Street Journal said that the Russian authorities reportedly consider raising income-tax levels and increasing value-added tax after 2018. The newspaper refers to official anonymous sources.
