Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev thanked the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan, which will elect 9 deputies to the Majilis today, for making its contribution to providing peace and stability in the country.
"Many thanks to all the members of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan. A unique organization - our Assembly was created 20 years ago. 20 years of peace and development of Kazakhstan. The Assembly on behalf of the 100 ethnic groups will delegate nine its deputies to protect the interests," RIA Novosti cited him as saying.
The head of Kazakhstan expressed confidence that the AKP activities should be expanded. "We need to strengthen the assembly even further and to decide questions together. If someone doesn't like something, the Assembly must extinguish it, explain things to young people," the president said.
