Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev and the Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin discussed the further development of the Baikonur Cosmodrome, as well as defense and armaments issues during a meeting in Astana.
Nazarbayev said that the issue of establishing joint ventures in the field of defense industry has already been discussed.
Russian Deputy Prime Minister, in turn, spoke in detail about the technical side of the 'Baiterek' project. He pointed out that this "project aims to create a radically new rocket and space technology and modernization of the launch complex."
In addition, Nazarbayev noted promotion of bilateral relations in other sectors of the economy as well.
