Kyrgyzstan’s President Almazbek Atambayev awarded his Kazakhstani counterpart, Nursultan Nazarbayev, the country's highest award - the Order of Manas of first degree.
Atambayev signed a decree on awarding Nazarbayev "for his great personal contribution to the development of allied relations and strategic partnership between Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan, to strengthening friendship and good neighborliness between the two nations," the press service of the Kyrgyz president said.
During the visit of the President of Kyrgyzstan to Astana in November last year, Nazarbayev awarded him the Order of Dostyk of first degree "for his contribution to the strengthening and development of bilateral political, economic and cultural relations between Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan," Interfax reports.
