Mutual economic sanctions are an archaic vestige of the Cold War and they should be put away forever, Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev said.
"Geopolitical games, mutual economic sanctions and other vestiges of the Cold War have to be put away forever. The building of a peaceful, stable, prosperous and economically strong Eurasia will give a powerful impetus to global growth and will be beneficial for everyone," Nazarbayev said during a meeting with the heads of foreign diplomatic missions accredited in the republic.
The President of Kazakhstan called on the diplomats to focus the efforts of all the states on development of cooperation on bilateral regional, inter-regional and global levels in the economic, trade and investment spheres.
"That's why I proposed creating a unified Eurasian Economic Space (CES). Today Eurasia is the key geopolitical and economic factor of the world policy. The interests of all the global players (China, Russia, USA, EU, India, Iran and Turkey) are inter-crossing here," the leader of Kazakhstan said.
