Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev called on the European Union to lift sanctions imposed on Russia in an interview with the French newspaper Le Figaro.
In his opinion, Europe should halt imposing sanctions on Russia, they are "politically ineffectual."
The head of Kazakhstan explained that the sanctions have had a negative impact on the people who have nothing to do with the situation in Ukraine - enterprise workers, farmers, private entrepreneurs.
In this regard, the President of Kazakhstan called to separate politics from economics, to ensure prevention of imposition of new sanctions and escalation of tensions, RIA Novosti reports.
