Kazakhstan hopes to get support from its foreign partners to obtain the status of non-permanent member of the UN Security Council, Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev said at a meeting of the board of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan.
"Kazakhstan for the first time is trying to get a non-permanent seat in the UN Security Council. We hope for the support of the countries with which we have friendly relations," he said.
The head of state urged the diplomatic corps to focus on the implementation of new tasks.
"Therefore, we have to remember what we have done, but we also have to think about what we still have to do," Interfax cited Nazarbayev as saying.
