The IMF Chief, Christine Lagarde, has been summoned to court. She is charged with negligence, the prosecution alleges, in 2007, when Lagarde, occupying the post of French Finance Minister, intervened in the trial of the businessman Bernard Tapie, as a result of which he won the case and received compensation of €400 million.
"Ms. Lagarde would like to confirm that she acted in the interests of the French state, and in full accordance with the law", Reuters quotes the statement of the press service of the IMF.
