Last year the Corps of Engineers discovered and destroyed 387 explosive objects from the Great Patriotic War period near the Kerch Strait.
"A mine clearance squad of the international mine action center of the Russian Armed Forces carried out a clearing of the area in the vicinity of construction (of the bridge across the Straits) of explosive objects, which were left there since the Great Patriotic War," the chief engineer of the Armed Forces Lieutenant-General Yury Stavitskiy informed.
"In 2015, altogether 387 explosive objects were found in this area, 21 hectares of land were cleared," TASS quoted him as saying.
