Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that his country’s policy is geared not to let Iran establish itself in Syria.
"Our policy is unchanged: to undermine the establishment of Iran in Syria and to strike at anyone who tries to harm us," Netanyahu wrote on his Twitter account following reports about Israeli air force delivering a strike on targets in neighboring Syria.
Earlier, Russia’s national defense management center reported that Syrian air defense systems had repelled an attack by Israeli F-16 fighter jets at the Duwali international airport in the southeast of Damascus. Seven missiles were downed.
