Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has promised to continue working to normalize relations with Turkey.
"Turkey and Israel had great relations years ago," he recalled. "We didn’t want to see them deteriorate and we weren’t responsible for it. We will accept any change in policy," Netanyahu said in Jerusalem after meeting with his Greek counterpart, Alexis Tsipras.
According to him, Israel is trying to normalize relations with Turkey. "I don’t know if we will succeed, but I believe we will continue to try," the Prime Minister noted. He added that these diplomatic actions do not depend on the development of cooperation between Israel, Greece and Cyprus.
Earlier, Israeli media reported that Israel and Turkey have prepared a draft agreement on normalization of relations, RIA Novosti notes.
