The US Congress has published a new draft of sanctions against Russia, presented by Republican Jim Banks.
"A bill on the imposition of sanctions against the Russian Federation and for other purposes," the portal says.
It is noted that the draft, submitted for consideration on January 19, was supported by another 38 congressmen. The text of the document has not been officially published yet.
According to the Washington Post, the project is called the "Putin Accountability Act". The draft mentions VEB and persons associated with it, as well as Dmitry Rybolovlev, Mikhail Fridman, Petr Aven, Mikhail Gutseriev, Alexander Vinokurov.
In addition, Congress wants to impose sanctions on journalists Margarita Simonyan, Vladimir Solovyov and Konstantin Ernst, declare "Russian-backed" forces in the Donbas terrorists and recognize Russia as a sponsor of terrorism, and ban transactions with Russian government debt.
