The Central Bank of Uzbekistan in 2024 will put into circulation a 200 thousand soums banknote.
"A lot of people say the issue of new bills is an indication of inflation. No, it is not. We simply exchange old bills for new ones", Sputnik Uzbekistan quotes the head of the Central Bank Mamarizo Nurmuratov.
He noted that the work "on the integration of ATMs to new banknotes" is currently underway. Nurmuratov added that soon new coins of 500 soums and 2000 soums would also be put into circulation.
