New zoo to be built in Tbilisi

In Georgia it was decided to build a new zoo in Tbilisi after the old one, 'Menagerie', was badly damaged during the summer floods.

Mayor of the capital David Narmania said that the government has allocated territory near Tbilisi Reservoir for a new zoo. According to preliminary plans, about 47 hectares will be allocated to animals.

The head of the city also assured that the old zoo will still operate, the decision on this will appear on the website of City Hall within 10 days, Interfax reports.
