Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation not only brilliantly held the Artistic Gymnastics World Cup in Baku, but also excellently prepared all conditions for the FIG International Board, the FIG Deputy Secretary General Nicolas Buompane said, speaking with the correspondent of Vestnik Kavkaza following the inspection of the Baku site for the upcoming event.
"Vice President of the European Union of Gymnastics, AGF Secretary General Farid Gaibov showed me everything, and I saw all the conditions created in Baku for the Board. I carefully checked the condition of all the halls where the meetings will be held and the hotels where the participants of the FIG International Board will live, and made sure that the event will be held at the highest level," Nicolas Buompane said.
The deputy secretary general also appreciated the holding of the Artistic Gymnastics World Cup in Baku, which came to an end yesterday. "The Federation has done an excellent job of organizing this championship. The finale was held at a very high level," he stressed.
"I am very pleased and happy that the gymnast from Azerbaijan won the medal," Nicolas Buompane concluded, referring to the Azerbaijani athlete Marina Nekrasova, who took the bronze medal in the floor exercises.
The FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Cup was held in Baku on March 16-19. Athletes from 23 countries competed for 10 medal sets.
