Nicole Zelikman: World Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships in Baku will be great

The level of organization of the European Championship by the Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation indicates that the World Championships in Baku will be great, Israeli gymnast Nicol Zelikman said, speaking with the correspondent of Vestnik Kavkaza after her performance with ribbon and clubs at the European Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships in Baku.

“I really like the way AGF organized this European Championships. The hall in Baku is amazing. I think that at the World Championships in Baku it will be even greater, ”she said.

According to the athlete, the audience in Baku is incredible. “The audience supports everyone, and it really helps to perform well,” Nicole Zelikman emphasized.

An Israeli gymnast said that her parents are from Baku. “My parents are from Baku, and when I came here to the 2014 European Championships, they showed me the city, the house where they lived, the Maiden's Tower and other sights,” she said, adding that her parents were delighted with Baku’s beauty.

Baku is hosting the 35th Rhythmic Gymnastics European Championships at the National Gymnastics Arena. Athletes from 35 countries are taking part in the championships. During the four-day championships, senior female gymnasts will perform in the individual program, while junior gymnasts will participate in the group exercise program. In total, the gymnasts will compete for 8 medal sets.
