A family lays the basic levels of national identity, the expert of Vestnik Kavkaza, Nikita Vlasov, said today on Vesti FM, speaking in the National Question program, which this Saturday was dedicated to the topic of national relations and upbringing of children.
First of all, children are born equal, and their key, initial formation takes place in the family. "There is a certain wisdom: тewborns cry similarly everywhere, but when they grow up, they have different habits as a result of education. I would like to start with this thought: a family, of course, lays the foundation for the socialization of any person, including the basic levels of national identity, provisionally speaking, who the person first of all considers himself to be: Russian, Pomor or Siberian,’’ Nikita Vlasov explained.
The expert illustrated these words with his own example. "My personal levels of identity unite national and international, national and civil. First of all, I am Russian. I'm a Muscovite, but my ancestors are Pomors. The reconciliation of the national and international takes place at the level of a harmonious mix of memory about one's ethnicity and understanding that I am a citizen of a multinational Russia. This is the key factor determining personal positioning in relation to representatives of other ethnic groups: we are equal, which is determined not only by the Constitution, but also by a personal attitude, which, of course, is a result of education, " he pointed out.
