Nominations of candidates for the members of gengeshes (local self-government bodies) and the members of parliament from two constituencies have started in Turkmenistan.
The registration of the candidates will be held from June 27 to July 22, after which the pre-election campaign will begin, the country’s Central Electoral Commission stated.
“All the applicants are given equal rights and opportunities to present their proposals to the electorate,” Trend cited the statement.
Turkmenistan will hold parliamentary elections on August 16.
