Cashless payments should be freely available in the North Caucasus Federal District, Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Sergey Nazarov says.
The Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation called on business owners in the republics of the North Caucasus Federal District to more actively expand the geography of non-cash payments.
“The issue of non-cash payments is of current interest. We understand, that payments are made by transfers, via phones, in cash - there is no secret. But we have a problem. And we set ourselves this task [of increasing the share of non-cash payments] to create conditions for non-cash payments to be freely available,”
– Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Sergey Nazarov said.
One of the main problems is the insufficient development of infrastructure for non-cash payments. Many stores, restaurants and other businesses do not have card terminals, which limits consumer choice. In addition, not all residents have debit cards or access to Internet banking, which also creates barriers to the use of non-cash payment methods.
