The "Fortuna" pipelayer involved in the construction of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline, as well as its owner, "KBT-Rus", have been added to another U.S. sanctions list, according to the statement published on the website of the U.S. Treasury.
Earlier, on January 19, the Donald Trump administration announced that sanctions will imposed on "Fortune" and "KBT-Rus" in accordance with the law "On Countering America's Adversaries Through Sanctions" (CAATSA).
The Ministry of Finance clarifies that "Fortuna" and "KVT-Rus" were blacklisted under the Protecting European Energy Security Act (PEESA), TASS writes.
