Leaders of the North Caucasus Federal District regions congratulated defenders of the Fatherland on their professional holiday, celebrated today.
"On this day, we express deep gratitude to our valiant soldiers for heroism and devotion, military achievements before the Motherland, honor those who chose this difficult but honorable profession to faithfully serve the Motherland, stand on guard of the national interests of the country, strengthen the defensive capability of the state, create conditions for the stable development of Russia, and a peaceful, prosperous life for our citizens," the congratulatory message of the head of Dagestan Ramazan Abdulatipov says.
In his turn, the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov noted that "the Chechen people treat military labor with special respect and honor, and military service is considered to be a job of dedicated and selfless people." "Our republic gave the country a whole bunch of heroes who served the Fatherland and gave their lives for it. A striking example of this was the immortal feat of the first President of the Chechen Republic, Hero of Russia Akhmat-Hadji Kadyrov, and thousands of his loyal supporters, who waged an uncompromising fight against international terrorism, which encroached on the territorial integrity and independence of our state, and died whle defending interests of their country," the head of this region reminded.
"We pay tribute and respect to all of those who died for the sake of the peace and welfare of our common Motherland. Eternal glory to the heroes!" he added.
"Every house, every family cherishes the memory of the heroism of their fathers and grandfathers, they are proud of those who ensured the safety and integrity of our Motherland today. First of all, it applies to the veterans of the Great Patriotic War, participants of military operations in 'hotspots', all of those who served, serve and will serve in the ranks of our armed forces," the congratulatory message of the head of Ingushetia Yunus-bek Yevkurov reads.
As the head of Kabardino-Balkaria Yuri Kokov noted, "on February 23rd we honor the sacred traditions of the Russian military, veterans of the Great Patriotic War and the Armed Forces, who inscribed heroic pages in the history of the country. We honor those who selflessly serve the Fatherland today, reliably protecting its interests, and the peace and security of citizens."
Congratulations were sent jointly in Karachay-Cherkessia by the head of the republic and the speaker of its parliament, Rashid Temrezov and Alexander Ivanov. "At all times, service to the Motherland was an honorable duty of every man, and patriotic traditions, readiness to defend the Motherland, native home and loved ones are the main principles of life. On this festive day, we honor all of those who fulfill their duty with honor and valor today, stand guard over the interests of Russia, who are an example of boundless courage, heroism and fortitude," they stated.
Governor of Stavropol Territory Vladimir Vladimirov has not stood aside. "This holiday is a symbol of the deep gratitude to everyone who defends their homeland. It has the highest respect for the veterans who defeated fascism, for our compatriots who carry out military service for peace in the entire world today," he noted.
In honor of this day, regions hold all sorts of festive events. Their inhabitants honor defenders of Fatherland and lay flowers at the monuments erected in honor of the defenders of the Fatherland. At 22:00, celebratory fireworks will be set off in many cities.
The only exception is North Ossetia. Tamerlan Aguzarov, who headed it, died on February 19th, in connection with which, as a sign of mourning for him, all festive events in the region have been cancelled.
