Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak held a meeting with new Turkish ambassador to Russia Mehmet Samsar, the energy ministry said.
The sides discussed the major energy projects of the two countries, in particular, the Turkish Stream gas pipeline and the Akkuyu nuclear power plant, as well as interregional cooperation.
Special attention was paid to the issues of cooperation in the sphere of culture and tourism in the context of the events planned this year within the framework of the Turkey-Russia Culture and Tourism Year
In addition, Novak and Samsar reviewed the current trade and economic cooperation between Moscow and Ankara. The parties noted the results of the work of the Russian-Turkish intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation, led by the Russian Ministry of Energy since 2012, RIA Novosti reports.
