The Supreme Eurasian Economic Council (SEEC) decided today to award Kazakhstan's first president Nursultan Nazarbayev the title of honorary chairman of the SEEC, Nazarbayev’s press secretary Aidos Ukibay said.
"Today, during the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in a narrow format, it was decided to award Nursultan Nazarbayev the title of honorary chairman of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council," Ukibay wrote on Twitter.
Earlier, President of Kazakhstan Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev said that Russian President Vladimir Putin proposed awarding Nazarbayev the title of honorary chairman of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council.
