Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev has congratulated the Orthodox Christians of the country on Christmas.
"This holiday symbolizes the bright power of faith, hope and love and unites people around traditional spiritual values," TASS cited him as saying.
Nazarbayev reminded that Christmas "fills the hearts of believers with joy, happiness and heavenly thoughts. This is a time of mutual understanding and mercy, care for our families and those who need it," he stressed.
The President said that "together with representatives of other confessions, Orthodox Christians contribute to the strengthening of inter-religious harmony, stability and unity in Kazakh society".
Nursultan Nazarbayev wished all Kazakh families good health, happiness, prosperity and welfare.
