Oasis of life to open on Crimean coast

An all-season park of artificial reefs for tourism and research will open on the Black Sea coast of Crimea, according to Vyacheslav Kozupitsa, head of the commission of the Center for Submarine Studies, Crimean branch of the Russian Geographical Society, C-inform reports.


The park will most likely appear on the southern coast, near the Koreiza District. It will have an area of two football fields, where two barges, a ship and two helicopter fuselages will be taken underwater. The Black Sea Fleet will send obsolescent ships to the park.


The said vehicles will be taken 15-30m underwater for diver training. A section will be cleared to breed fish, crabs and shrimps. Kozupitsa called it an oasis of life.
