Obama extends sanctions against Minsk for another year

US President Barack Obama signed an executive decree to extend the sanctions against a number of representatives of Belarusian authorities for another year.

"Actions and policy of certain members of the Belarusian government continue to pose extraordinary and emergency threat to the national security and foreign policy of the USA. In this connection, the state of emergency (against Belarus), announced on June 16th, 2006, should continue after June 16th, 2016," he said.
