Oil may rise in price by 50% in the course of this year, media report

During this year, oil prices on the world market may grow by more than 50%, as the result of which the price of a barrel of Brent oil could reach 48 dollars, according to experts interviewed by Bloomberg.

"The global oversupply, which led to a reduction in commodity prices to a 12-year low, may soon shift to a deficit due to the fall of production levels of shale oil in the United States," it cites the data of Goldman Sachs Group Inc.

In particular, according to the Energy Information Administration, oil production in the United States will be reduced by 620 thousand barrels per day (about 7%). In turn, the International Energy Agency expects a reduction in the total supply of oil produced by countries outside of OPEC by 600 thousand barrels per day before the end of 2016. "This could set the stage for a rebound in prices, since the low cost of commodities has stimulated global demand," RIA Novosti cites the article.
