For the first time, two imported cases of coronavirus caused by the omicron strain were detected in Armenia today, the National Center for Disease Control reported.
“Two imported cases of coronavirus disease caused by the omicron strain have been identified in Armenia. Patients with COVID-19 underwent an epidemiological examination after their arrival in Armenia, including sequencing, as a result of which the omicron strain was identified. The patients' condition is satisfactory, they are not hospitalized, both are undergoing treatment at home", RIA Novosti quotes the National Center's for Disease Control message.
As of Wednesday, January 5, 345,713 cases of COVID-19 infection have been confirmed in Armenia, as well as 7,999 deaths. Quarantine has been declareded until June 20, 2022, the country's Ministry of Health said.
