Open-air Museum of Antiquities reconstructed in Pyatigorsk

Employees of the Pyatigorsk Local History Museum have restored the first open-air museum in the North Caucasus, which worked in the city from 1850 till 1881, the official website of the Stavropol regional authorities reports.

The museum was re-created on the crest of Mount Goryachaya and it contains unique monuments of different ages from different parts of the region. The central exhibit of the museum is a three-meter granite statue of Duca Beck, created in the Middle Ages, Eto Kavkaz reports.
