The Georgian Parliament has recognised the parliamentary mandates of 12 members of the 'Gakharia for Georgia' opposition party.
Today, the mandates of Gela Abuladze, Jemal Ananidze, Ketevan Bakaradze, Rusudan Tevzadze, Malkhaz Toria, Shalva Kereselidze, Salome Kobaladze, Giga Parulava, Vika Philpani, Giorgi Sharashidze, Tamar Khvedeliani, and Sopho Khorguani were recognised.
The new parliamentary mandates will replace the previously terminated mandates of the party members.
The 12 mandates of the “Gakharia for Georgia” party deputies were terminated at an extraordinary session on July 2. Non-attendance at parliamentary sittings was named as the reason.
Earlier, Chairman of the Georgian Parliament Shalva Papuashvili said that ex-PM Giorgi Gakharia’s party had applied to the Central Election Commission, made some adjustments to the list, and named 12 people who should become members of Parliament.
