The inauguration of the church in honor of Holy Great Martyr Barbara was held on Saturday in the village of Shelkovskaya in Chechnya. The opening ceremony was attended by Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the NCFD Alexander Matovnikov, Minister of the Russian Federation for the North Caucasus Sergei Chebotarev and head of the Chechen Republic Ramzan Kadyrov.
”An Orthodox church was opened on the shore of a beautiful lake, in front of the cathedral mosque. This shows that on the territory of the Chechen Republic, the mutual respect between the faiths is at a very high level," Matovnikov said.
