The newly-elected President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), Pedro Agramunt, said that the Assembly should continue dialogue with Russia, despite the fact that the Russian delegation has decided not to participate in the January session of the PACE.
"Russia is in Europe and a member state of our organisation. I strongly believe that as Europeans we must solve our problems together," he said, adding that "there are many issues we have to discuss; there is a number of problems we have to solve together".
PACE deprived the Russian delegation of its voting rights after Crimea became a part of Russia, RIA Novosti reports.
