Pakistan-Iran rail service suspended

The Pakistan-Iran cargo train service has been suspended for three days after nine bogies of a goods train derailed in Kaishangi are of Nushki district on Saturday, The Express Tribune reports.

According to sources, the train loaded with 600 tonnes of brimstone was coming to Quetta from Mirjawa, Iran. The incident took place due to malfunction in the train engine, the sources added.

More than 100 feet of railway tack was damaged.

Soon after the incident, Pakistan Railways called as many as 100 workers from Dalbandin, Ahmed Wal, Nushki, Quetta and adjoining areas for repair work.

Due to the repair work the goods trains have been stopped in Taftan and Dalbandin. Railway sources believe that the repair work would be completed in a couple of days.
