Parliamentary elections in Kyrgyzstan to cost $3.6 million

The state budget will allocate about 220 million soms (about $3.6 million) for the preparation and holding of parliamentary elections in Kyrgyzstan, the head of the financial and logistical support department of the CEC of Kyrgyzstan, Malabek Toktobolotov, said.

"We have calculated what is needed for the preparation and holding of elections," he said. The CEC did not rule out further increases in the cost of the elections.

On July 25th Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambayev signed a decree on the holding of parliamentary elections on 4 October 2015. According to the laws of the Republic, the elections will be conducted exclusively according to party lists.
