Pashinyan believes Armenia's debt amount poses no threat

The amount of Armenia's  foreign national debt does not pose a threat to the country, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at the National Assembly, as he presented the 2018 activity report of the government.

According to him, all annual payments are already calculated within the framework of state budget planning.

"There is no risk - moreover, a threat - to Armenia. The prices of apartments will increase, budget revenues will grow," News.am cited the PM as saying.

"This year we will collect at least 40 billion drams ($82 million). And our economic activity indices show that the revenues will grow," Pashinyan noted, adding that the fight against corruption will contribute to the reduction of shadow economy and the growth in revenues.

"Risks certainly exist, but they are linked to the global situation and crises," Pashinyan concluded.
