Pashinyan holds phone talks with Michel ahead of Moscow visit

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and European Council President Charles Michel discussed the implementation of agreements on elaborating a peace agreement between Yerevan and Baku and the establishment of a commission to delimit the Armenian-Azerbaijani border in a phone call on Monday.

"Pashinyan and Michel exchanged views on the process of implementing the agreements reached during the April 6 meeting in Brussels between the Armenian prime minister, Azerbaijani president and the European Council president. The parties also discussed the situation in the region and the agenda of Armenian-EU relations," the press service for the Armenian government said on Monday.

Pashinyan and Michel also discussed the implementation of the agreement to provide $2.6 billion to Armenia as part of the economic and investment plan of the European Partnership program. Michel reiterated the EU's commitment to fully implement the investment program.

At the meeting in Brussels on April 6, Baku and Yerevan agreed to instruct the foreign ministers to start working on the future peace treaty. The parties also agreed to convene a joint commission for border delimitation and security by the end of April.

As previously reported, Pashinyan will pay an official visit to Russia on April 19.
