Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has paid tribute to the victims of the devastating 1988 earthquake that struck the city of Spitak in the Shirak Province.
On the morning of December 7, the Prime Minister, along with President Vahagn Khachaturyan, Parliament Speaker Alen Simonyan, and other state officials, visited the city.

On December 7, 1988, a magnitude 6.8 earthquake hit Spitak. The disaster resulted in the deaths of an estimated 25,000 people and left more than 500,000 homeless.
